Your images matter more than you think

Pretty photos can quietly hurt your SEO.

I recently shared a photo I loved.
It was taken on my phone and looked great.

It was also over 2 MB.

A single image will not break your website, but regularly uploading large, unoptimized photos adds up fast and can slow your site down over time, which impacts both user experience and SEO.

This is one of the most common reasons business websites feel slow. It is usually not your platform. It is not your host. It is the images, videos, and GIFs we upload without realizing how heavy they are.

Here is why this matters:

Over half of mobile visitors will leave a site if it takes more than a few seconds to load.

People expect fast websites.
Slow sites lose visitors.
And Google rewards faster websites in search.

If your site is slow, fewer people stick around long enough to become leads or customers. That affects your SEO, your conversions, and how people experience your brand.

The good news is this is fixable.

You do not need a new website.
You do not need to rebuild everything.
You just need better habits around the images and media you upload.

This is exactly why I included my Image Optimization 101 Workshop as a bonus inside the Visibility Hive. Most people have never been shown how to do this properly, and these small fixes add up fast across your site.

If you want step-by-step guidance and support applying this to your own website, the Visibility Hive is for you.
